Today is a New Day!

This week, I have really been trying to get things done! “Power 15″ for this and “Power 15″ for that! This morning, I woke up in a funk, despite getting things done. I did not wake up full of energy ready to embrace the new day that God blessed me with. I did hit snooze this morning so my attempted quiet time was interrupted by little people needing socks and other things that were right in front of their faces. (LOL)

I set my timer for getting ready and I even “cooked” breakfast this morning (turkey sausage biscuits, grapes and OJ)! I drove to work and did not have to battle too much traffic. However, when I got to my desk, I was just blah. I opened my email and read a wonderful message from a dear friend, Christina Burchette. We have decided to intently pray for each other so she sends me a verse and quick encouraging word by email every day! ( I am truly blessed!)

Today she sent me and email that said:

Lamentations 3: 22-23 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. (NIV)
Wow is all I could say. I was instantly reminded of the old hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness”! It also prompted me to read Lamentations 3:22-28. This is going to blow your socks off Divas! I just love “The Message” translation when you really want to make things plain so here you are:

Lamentations 3:22-28 (The Message)

22-24God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,
his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.
They’re created new every morning.
How great your faithfulness!
I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He’s all I’ve got left.

25-27God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
to the woman who diligently seeks.
It’s a good thing to quietly hope,
quietly hope for help from God.
It’s a good thing when you’re young
to stick it out through the hard times.

28-30When life is heavy and hard to take,
go off by yourself. Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:
Wait for hope to appear.
Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face.
The “worst” is never the worst

Divas, God’s Word has said it all, there is nothing left for me to blog about today. If you are reading this, you have been “blessed” with a New Day. Stick it out! Wait for hope to appear! Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)
