Memorial Day Challenge

I am taking the Mommyologist Memorial Day Challenge: I will NOT make one negative comment about the way I look in a bathing suit, shorts, or any other piece of clothing for the entire Memorial Day Weekend. The Mommyologist says to replace ANY negative thoughts with the following statement: “I am Mom Sexy, and I’m PROUD!” Click the photo above to read more.

Dara Chadwick, author of You’d be so pretty if…” says: “Don’t refuse to wear a bathing suit or dance at a wedding because you think you’re too big or don’t look right. You’ll be teaching your daughter that only ‘perfect’ people get to have fun in life.” Ouch!

So Divas, sport your Swimming Suit Swagger this summer! Need help picking out the right suit for your body type? Click Here. Remember, nobody is perfect!

Romans 3:23-24
…..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

This is a subject I'm very passionate about. I feel it is very important to love yourself best and treat yourself with kindness and gentleness. I also think about the example I set for my daughter- if I'm criticizing my appearance all the time and then she hears from someone that she looks just like her mother… well, what is she going to then assume about her looks?

I'm pretty dang positive about my appearance- not that I run around thinking I'm hot but that I've reached a point where I care for my appearance but it also doesn't matter. or rather that my appearance doesn't define me. Does that make sense?

This year I finally bought a swimsuit that has just a regular bottom instead of a skirt. So, yes, people can see my cellulite, but oh well. I figured if I can run a marathon, who cares!

Count me in! And I love the Dara Chadwick quote. I have 2 daughters, and I would never want them to think they have to be perfect! :)

Stopped by from Lady Bloggers and I'm really enjoying your blog. I'm your newest follower! :)

Love it!!!! I just posted something similar a few days ago. My Mom & I got into a discussion about how our husbands see us vs. how we see ourselves and how those things compare to how God sees us. And it turned into a blog post. :)
