Hello to all my Tuesday Tag-Along visitors! Thanks for stopping by!
My girls only have 2 days of school left–WHOHOO! That leaves me thinking of how we have had our struggles with school this year. As the year draws to a close with my second grader still a little behind in math, I am struggling with not feeling like a failure as a Mom. Did I recognize that she was having problems? Yes and I take her to tutoring in the next town twice a week and pay a pretty penny for it. My husband and I sit with her and work on her homework with her. Yet, even though we are working hard, she is still behind. So with 2 days left and not what I would exactly call a victory, I am reminded of two things:
1. Galatians 6:9 — Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
2. Theodore Roosevelt “Citizenship in a Republic” 04/23/10
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

This applies to so many things. Of course, raising kids; also, losing weight, going green for the planet, showing compassion for those who need help, maybe having one positive word for telemarketers before you hang up on them!!!
