Menu Plan Monday

Of all the things that I love about being a wife and mother, cooking is NOT one of them. Until about a month ago, my evenings would look like this: I walk in the door having no idea what is for dinner, everything that could be prepared is frozen, the natives (my children) are starving and very restless, I am tired. That scenario usually ended up with…we are going out to eat!

However, since becoming more intentional about the way I live, I have tried my hand at menu planning! The Quirky Cook defines menu planning as: “the process you go through to select, purchase, and prepare the food you will eat for a select period of time.” Some Divas plan their meals for the whole month. Baby steps for me, I plan out meals for the upcoming week. I still don’t just LOVE cooking but I do LOVE having an answer to the age old question, “Mom what’s for dinner?”. It is helpful to be able to come in and actually get started with something and not have to run to the store or wait for meat to thaw. Some other added bonuses are: decreased money spent on eating out, healthier meals for the family, and less stress for Mama!

Some blogging Mama’s have really got this thing down pat. Visit the “Organizing Junkie” for a great way to get started with Menu Planning! Another great site is: E-Z Mealz!

Since it is sooo hot, I have decided to do quick and easy meals this week:

Monday

Green beans–canned seasoned with a beef bullion cube, salt, lemon pepper and onion flakes

Tuesday

with a salad
Wednesday
Turkey Paninis (I add peperoni and use shredded mozerella cheese) I don’t have an expensive panini machine so I use the trusty George Foreman Grill!!
salad
grapes

Thursday

Spinach–sautaed with olive oil, salt, lemon pepper, and a clove of garlic

Friday and Saturday—NOTHING!! My wedding anniversary is on Saturday!! Totally NOT cooking–kiddes are going to Grandma’s house! Bom chica wa wa!!

Proverbs 31:10, 15

10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. 15She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household
