Post-It-Note Tuesday After Christmas Clean

Only Parent Chronicles

I just can’t seem to get motivated to take down all the Christmas decorations that I had to get motivated to put up. If anyone spots the Laundry Fairy or the Clean Up Jeanie please shoot me an email….I need them!!!

Until they get here, I am trying to do a little at a time so I do not get overwhelmed. I did not take an extended vacation this week like the rest of the world, so I gotta pace myself. However, I did find some good “after-Christmas” cleaning ideas over at Organized Home. (I just gotta get motivated to put them into action.)

I have been plain exhausted after all the cooking, wrapping, baking, whatevering from Christmas. i look around at all that needs to be done and I am just NOT feelin’ it. One of my good friends said that my lack of motivation may be my body telling me that I need rest. It’s funny, when I try to relax, I always feel like I should be busy doing something.

Hmmm, a definite reflection point for 2011!

Luke 10:38-42 (Contemporary English Version)

Martha and Mary
The Lord and his disciples were traveling along and came to a village. When they got there, a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat down in front of the Lord and was listening to what he said. Martha was worried about all that had to be done. Finally, she went to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!”

The Lord answered, “Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about so many things, but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her.”

What are your “after-Christmas” cleaning tips and thoughts for the New Year?

i am trying to get motivated to take down the tree today, but am opting for shivering under a blanket right now because the breaker for our heat decided to overheat… maybe I'll find motivation after the electrician leaves…

I don't know why people rush to take down their decorations. You can't enjoy them before the holiday because you are too busy rushing around.
Mine will be up until at least the 13th of January. Now I can sit and drink in all the beauty of my hard work.
