I decided to TRY to get organized this spring! I joined Simple Mom in her “Project Simplify” 3 weeks ago. Each week, a “Hot Spot” is revealed and you are supposed to upload the finished project at the end of the week.
Just to give you a little insight on how my “organizing” is going:
1. The project started with the master closet (yeah –not a good look!).
2. We were supposed to have everything finished in a week–(yeah–now 3 weeks in and I am still NOT done with my closet from week 1). There were things you needed to do like wash all your clothes, go through and try stuff on to decide what looks best, donate what you don’t wear, etc. Can I just say, getting all the clothes washed was a JOB by itself–just sayin’
3. On a positive note, my closet- half done looks better than when I started!
SO, here you have it:
BEFORE

“Semi” After
I just don’t have ANYWHERE else for my hood dryer and my pink chair that I sit in at least twice a week to dry my hair with to go! (Any suggestions?)

(These are the cool hangers that I purchased for $1.00 for 10 at Wal-Mart! I plan on transferring my pants and less dressy item on to these hangers. I actually have quite a few Joy Mangano hangers that I will put my nicer work clothes on.)
I really struggled with this project. My intentions were GREAT but my time and energy were not so great. I like to get things done QUICKLY, but I rarely had a huge chunk of time to work so I did 15 minutes here and 15 minutes there. I still have a few more “15 minutes” to go. Parts of me just want to “forgetaboutit”!
Isn’t life like this? We have great ideas and intentions and then things just don’t seem to go as planned. More often than not, they take a lot LONGER than we EVER intended. In our microwave society, 10 minutes seems like a long time to wait!
I have prayed for things and really felt like God was not listening because the answer took a lot longer than I anticipated/wanted/expected. In some cases, it was years before I could look back and say “Oh, now I see”.
So instead of being mad at myself for not finishing on time, I am thankful to God that I completed what I did. I am going to continue to work on it and COMPLETE it when I can!
Being thankful when things are: frustrating, taking longer, not happening, happening for her but not me, hard, not fun or painful is not easy but it sure makes the journey more pleasant!
Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…. And be thankful.
I will be sure to post the “COMPLETED PROJECT”!!!

Great job on being persistent and determined! Who cares WHEN you get it done? No one will be there with a “Quickest Cleaner” trophy! lol The thing that matters is that you're doing it.
It looks awesome…love the hair dryer. It adds a personal touch!
You inspired me to go work on mine!
I posted at Mama Kat's today also but I chose a poem about hope.
Keep organizing!
Looking good. Just keep going. My closet is still tidy (a minor mircle) and I cleaned it out months ago. It has really made life 'nicer' to have it tidy.

I have been trying for 2 weeks to organize Landon closet, I don't have the drive or motivation ,I do a little her and a little there! I love how you are not getting warped up in whats not done but loving what you have! I going to bowwow that ok!! I think your closet looks awesoem! I'm Thankful!!! I <3 you friend!
Taking that first step to start is progress in my book. I think what you have completed so far is great. I'm with Kristi-going to go work on mine this afternoon when the little ones go down for their nap.
Closets are annoying and I HATE cleaning or organizing them. I made hubby re-do our closet with proper hangers and now it looks fabulous.
So much easier to keep it clean when you have compartments and hooks and shelves.
Lovely post!
Visiting you again via Mama Kat's. Come on over and read what I do that drives my hubby crazy!
You have just inspired me to organize my closet….. again. I really dread doing it but this morning it took me almost 10 minutes to find a black belt in that abyss I call a closet. I usually have to reserve a whole Saturday for this task. Your closet is looking good so I am off to Walmart for some of those cute colorful hangers.
Yikes… I am just going to say… your closet was pretty good to begin with. Now I am thinking I seriously need to take on this challenge!! GREAT job!!
I think you did a great job. I agree that there is no where to put the hair dryer. I have one of those ones that folds up into a helmet but it still takes up space in the dang master closet lol. I'm liking your blog, btw. I came over from mama kat's round up of posts and I'm glad I did! I hope you can stop by my blog and read my writing prompt for this week.

These type of projects do take a lot of time…but I find them so fulfilling because you can really see what you accomplished.
