I blinked and now it is almost August!!! How can this be? It seems like the girls finished up school last week! I don’t know about ya’ll but things are moving way fast around here.
I remember being a little girl and my mother saying in July that Christmas was right around the corner. At the time, I thought she was CRAZY! Well, she IS crazy but that is a different topic for a different day (LOL)! Crazy or not, she was right because Christmas IS right around the corner—150 days away to be exact! Eeeeeeek!
I am in the process of helping to plan my twenty year high school class reunion. I am simply amazed at how quickly twenty years has flown by. I am so blessed to be where I am and doing what I am doing in my life. I sometimes still feel like 18 year old Katina. (Just with a job, responsibilities, a husband and two children!)
However, the realization that it really has been twenty years has been a chilling reminder of how quickly time passes.
This past weekend, I went to the beach with my girls and some friends and their children. We had a great time! I didn’t even take my computer. It was wonderful!
I don’t want to spend the next twenty years simply going through the motions of “getting things done”. If God is gracious enough to let me see another twenty years, I want to spend them meaningfully not running around from activity to activity.
As all of this sounds really noble but school is getting ready to start and so is the hustle and bustle that goes along with it. It is going to take discipline to not over schedule. Discipline not to scurry through–blink and it will be December and then blink again and it will be summer all over again, one big blur.
How do you exercise the discipline of NOT over scheduling so that you don’t blink and years have gone by?
Psalm 90:10
We live at best to be seventy years old, maybe eighty, if we’re strong.
But their duration brings hard work and trouble because they go by so quickly.

Visiting from Things I Can't Say…You have beautiful girls, and I am looking forward to coming back so I can read all your posts!!!
It really is crazy how fast time passes!
So funny where y'all were- I was there with family Wed-Friday morning!
Loved that pic! You're gorgeous!
I'm feeling just like this. I put the laptop down last week and did the beach thing all week. It was so fun!
I think we have to learn to say “no” more often. Cross things off our list, and simplify. Taking care of us is important too. I'm learning that!
Perhaps part of the scheduling could include scheduling quality time-ins with your family. For example, we have game nights and story times (which will turn into reading nights) to try and keep us together and close. Good luck!
My New Year's 'One Word' Resolution this year was Remember. Just before I read your post I was trying to think of a blog series of posts for my blog, like “remember 10 years ago, 5 years ago, etc.” Then I froze because I couldn't think of anything from the year 2006. Hahaha, time does blink by, crazy.
