TGIF!!!!! Today I am teaming up with My Little Life for 5 Question Friday!
1. Where do you escape to when you’ve had enough?
Well, I used to go to our downstairs bathroom and turn on the fan with the door locked. That worked until my girls figured out how to pick locks! I don’t know where to hide now. I probably would have to leave and go for a drive. Life has taught me that even if you physically get away, it is in your mind that you really have to escape!
2. What shows are you watching this fall?
I know this sounds crazy to most Americans but I don’t watch ANY TV shows regularly. Our family life is so busy that when coupled with working, blogging and teaching Zumba, I just don’t have time for TV. A friend told me about Oprah’s Lifeclass so I DVR’d the season last night. Time will tell if I ever get around to watching it.
3. What was the longest road trip you’ve ever taken and where did you go?
My longest roadtrip was driving from North Carolina to Dallas, Texas. The drive was 22 hours—uggh! The best thing about it was that I took this trip with my father. I was in college and about 21 years old at the time. It was priceless quality time that he and I spent to together! We took the scenic route on the way down so that we could drive on the MLK highway in Memphis and go and visit Hope, Arkansas where President Clinton was born. I lost my father in 2002. I am so glad we took that trip! Good times!
4. Do you plan on taking your kids to Disney World?
I love Disney! We took the girls there 2&1/2 years ago and we loved it! I would love to go back and do some of the things that we didn’t get to do the last time. Just gotta plan that thing. Disney is EXPENSIVE!
5. What is something people would surprised to know about you?
I really like simple living and often yearn for a simple life. I made tons of decisions earlier in life that have helped simple living elude me but I am taking back my power day by day. Yes, day by day, I am striving to do less and listen to God’s voice more. I am getting it, slowly but surely, I cannot do it all and a totally checked off to-do list is, well, nice. It is SO NOT the end of the world if something goes undone.
Psalm 37:24
The LORD will hold your hand, and if you stumble, you still won’t fall.

Love American Idol! I don't watch much wither, but I'm hooked the new show, Revenge.
I'm sorry about the loss of your father, but it sounds like you guys had a great road trip together! As for escaping, try a drive, or even take a shower….it helps me.
I so agree that sometimes you have to escape your mind. Can so totally relate.
I haven't taken my son to Disney yet, but really want to….but as you mentioned it is expensive!
I also like the simple life.
