Back to the Grind-Mingle Monday

Ok so back to work tomorrow! After a fabulous long weekend of family, sleeping in, and NOT WORKING, I would be lying if I told you that I am just so elated to be getting back into the grind.

The girls were out of school on Wednesday and I took the day off! We spent a lot of quality Mommy-daughter time together. They totally got in the way–Cough, Gag–I mean helped me cook some of the Thanksgiving food. We also decorated and cleaned up really well before Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving dinner was one of the best in a very long time. Every one was on their best behavior and we did not have to call the Police. I am totally kidding about the Police but y’all know you have been to some family dinners where you WISHED somebody called the Police, Ghost busters, anybody to stop the madness.

What we lacked in family drama madness, we picked up in clutter. After having the house clean before Thanksgiving, my body just did NOT want to re-clean. The putting back of extra tables and chairs, moving furniture, etc…just not interested. I also had the grand idea to put up some Christmas decorations. Yea, there is a reason my Grandmother always said you had to clean up before you put up decorations.

So, it is Sunday night and everything on my laundry list of all the things I wanted to accomplish this weekend did NOT happen. Actually, when I look around it doesn’t look like ANYTHING good has been going on.

Luckily, things are not as they appear. Actually, a lot of really GOOD things happened this weekend. We spent quite a bit of time together as a family and I actually unplugged from blogging and tons of computer time.

Clutter after a big dinner and the mess created during decorating for Christmas are part of the process.

I love this quote by Dennis Rivers: “Because life continually requires us to attend to problems and breakdowns, it gets very easy to see in life only what is broken and needs fixing. But satisfying relationships (and a happy life) require us to notice and respond to what is delightful, excellent, enjoyable, to work well-done, to food well-cooked, etc.

So, how does a Diva stop being blue about work tomorrow, what didn’t get done, what is not going right………

    Thanks for the laugh…I have had a few drama filled family get-togethers where I wanted someone to call the insane assylum, because I must have been insane to think this was a good idea!
