Maintain Don’t Gain Challenge-Pour Your Heart Out

Some of you know that I issued a challenge on this Blog and in my Zumba Class called CUT THE CRAP before Thanksgiving. Read all about it here. Basically, it was a positive eating plan that eliminated CRAP from your diet for 21 days before Thanksgiving! CRAP stands for caffeine, refined sugar, alcohol and processed foods!

Whew, that challenge was hard but before Thanksgiving I felt wonderful and was down 5 pounds! The CUT THE CRAP challenge ended on Thanksgiving and boy did I feel all the CRAP I ate on Turkey Day!

We all know that Thanksgiving signals the opening day of a season of overeating, stress and inactivity. Unfortunately, the season does not end until well after we ring in the New Year.

For many Divas this also means unwanted weight gain. If you have been trying to lose weight before the holidays, it is especially hard to continue to do so once the Holidays arrive.

Therefore, the challenge is to try to maintain weight and not gain any during the weeks from Thanksgiving until after the first of the year.

This year, make a promise to yourself to enjoy the holiday season with a higher level of energy while maintaining your weight and healthy lifestyle!

So I have a NEW CHALLENGE: The Maintain Don’t Gain Challenge– December 1, 2011 until January 12, 2011!!!

What do you have to do for the challenge? Just a couple of Dos and Don’ts…

DO Exercise at least 30 minutes per day or 210 minutes per week
DO Eat 1 cup of fruit and/or veggies per day
DO Eat breakfast daily
DO Sleep or rest for at least 6-8 hours per day
Do NOT eat more than 1 serving of sweets/dessert per day
Do NOT drink more than 1 alcoholic beverage per day
Do NOT give into emotional/stress eating

One common theme that kept coming to me as I was CUTTING THE CRAP was intentionality!

Ephesians 5:15-16 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

How can you be intentional about what you eat and how you spend your time this Holiday Season?
